Two Soulmates – One Lifetime

“Wow! What a Love Story”, I hear people say.

I remember that significant day when I was 16 in high school – seeing a couple of guys across the room that stood out – I asked my friend if she knew them. She said, “No”. A minute later these words come through me, and I didn’t recognize them as my own – “I’m going to go out with the guy with the dark hair.” I had a jolt – wondering where that came from. Suddenly a vivid ‘picture’ came out of nowhere in which I saw myself married to him, living in suburbia, white picket fence, 2 kids and a dog. I ‘saw’ it and felt it, as if it were already true. Again, another jolt – as these words came through me, “No, I’m going to marry him!” My friend and I were both stunned and speechless.

A year later I was married to Jim, a child on the way and we had already purchased our own home, and, of course, a dog in the yard with a white picket fence.
As my life unfolded, this question got stronger, and seemed more significant, “How could this have happened? Was there some invisible thing going on? If so, what was it, and could others learn to duplicate it successfully?” Living in this inquiry I discovered there were some Principles at play, unbeknownst to me at the time, and I saw that they were teachable.

For nearly 4 decades Jim and I lived as if in a ‘petri dish’ – as I calls it -researching how much love can one give and receive in a lifetime? What makes it diminish and what makes it grow and deepen? I remember Jim saying once, after a long, sweet hug, “Everyone is yearning for this kind of Love, Kathleen. And most don’t know it exists.” Over time I realized our shared Purpose was to embrace issues as opportunities for growth and learning, enrich our love, deepen our connection, and model that in the world – knowing when Love prevails anything is possible, and that in the Presence of Love all are touched.

Two and a half years after Jim had suddenly transitioned, and I has processed my loss, I attracted another ‘Miracle’. I was now ready to create a new research project – given dating was a whole new world for me – the inquiry now was, “How does ‘online dating’ work?” I perfected the process and after having ‘enough great’, and ‘not so great’ meeting and dating experiences – ‘it’ happened again. After only 2 emails (no phone call – no prior contact – a first for me), a meeting was planned with a new gentleman at a restaurant. I had a feeling of excitement and anticipation from the moment I read his profile. Then on the way to the restaurant fear came up, followed by a guiding thought that washed over me, “Trust the process!” I walked into the restaurant – there he was – no words – just a warm hug – here ‘it’ was again – an intense feeling of familiarity and recognition, on a knowing level, ignited throughout my entire Being, while we were hugging. I put my hands on his shoulders pushing him slightly back to look straight into his eyes – and I said, “Oh my gosh. It’s you, isn’t it?” (Needless to say, he was baffled.) While walking to the table I thought, “I hope I like him, because I know I am going to be with this man the rest of my life.” The evening unfolded in a Magical way – everything lining up – inspirations – passions – values – priorities – commitment to making a contribution to the world. A Divine Gift had been bestowed upon me again. ‘The rest is history’.
